BC Renal is pleased to share an Interior Health announcement, welcoming Dr. Brian Forzley in his new role as Interior Health's medical director of renal services, and extending sincere thanks to Dr. Marie Michaud for her years of dedicated service in the role. Brian's first day in his new role is September 3, 2024:
Brian is a nephrologist and general internist at Penticton Regional Hospital. He and his family made a home in the Okanagan in 2009, loving life in the mountains and lakes, and in wine country. Brian loves being outdoors including skiing and touring, mountain biking and trail running, and most recently learning to sail. He and his family love to travel and spend as much time on their home hill of Apex Mountain as the winter will allow.
Brian graduated from medical school at the University of Manitoba and then completed his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at the University of Western Ontario. He has served as site Medical Director for the Penticton Renal Program, President of the Penticton Regional Hospital Medical Staff Association, and as a member of the PRH Ethics Committee.
He also participates on the BC Renal Palliative Care Committee and maintains an active interest in medical leadership, communication, and patient-centred care. He is a graduate of the NAVIG8 program and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine through the University of British Columbia.
We welcome Dr. Forzley’s expertise and look forward to further advancing Renal Services within the Okanagan Region.
Please join us in thanking Dr. Marie Michaud who has provided Renal Program medical leadership for over 10 years. Marie has a passion to improve patient outcomes through patient and family engagement and supportive partnerships between patients, families and health professionals. Her commitment to high quality person-centred care has enabled those living with renal disease to “live their lives to the fullest.”
