The number of British Columbians with kidney disease is growing every year, due to our aging population and increasing rates of heart disease and diabetes.
Fortunately, patients have access to a broad range of kidney care services no matter where they live in the province, and we are making significant strides in early detection and treatment, as well as increasing dialysis options.
BC Renal conducts periodic, province-wide surveys of all kidney patients in BC to measure patient perceptions about key areas of care. Below are links to an infographic featuring high level provincial results from the 2022 survey, as well as a number of reports. Detailed results will enable provincial kidney care committees and renal programs to support action planning aimed at improving the patient experience.
All statistics are from the BC Renal database PROMIS, the only province-wide, integrated registry for kidney-disease patients.
